Van 16 april t/m 15 mei 2010 exposeert Elias Mohd in Funen Art Gallery te Amsterdam
De opening is op zaterdag 17 april van 15.00 tot 17.00 uur, met een toespraak van Peter Buma, Directeur van Buurtwerkplaatsen Amsterdam
Het werk van Elias Mohd bestaat uit keramische beelden, maskers en olieverfschilderijen met dans als thema. Zowel zijn schilderkunst als zijn keramische werk toont al bij de eerste oogopslag zijn gedrevenheid. Hij weet daar extra dimensies en harmonie aan toe te voegen, de passie zichtbaar en voelbaar te maken. Zijn maskers zijn beïnvloed door verschillende culturen en het mysterie van het theater.
Elias Mohd leerde al jong het keramiekkunst van zijn moeder. Zijn vader - een Maleisische choreograaf leerde hem alle dansbeweging van het traditionele danstheater. Hij heeft meer dan twintig solo-exposities gehad in Azië en Europa. Zijn werk bevindt zich in collecties van kunstverzamelaars en banken in Maleisië en Hongkong. Hij geeft cursussen en workshops in Amsterdam en Azië in zijn door hem ontwikkelde techniek 'Patch & Pattern' www.elceramic.com

June - July 2009 Ceramic workshop-holiday in Malaysia- 6 persons each group
Restoration work for antique and damaged pieces.
- learning the basics of understanding clay texture, the main ceramics techniques, modelling, extruding, and forming patch and pattern structure, basic glazing and decoration.
- Knowledge obtained in this course forms a basic prerequisite for attending the succeeding courses in all the branches.
- Workshop is from 10 am – 2 pm
- This course is suitable for beginners, intermediate, advanced.
- Cost: All materials and firing costs are included. Size restriction applies.
- Total cost: 220 EUR per person Tea/Coffee and lunch included.
- Accompanied children welcome. Home stay/bed and breakfast can be arranged. 4* apartment with cooking facilities, air-co 5 minutes away, by exclusive beach resort Awana. 4 persons apartment 50 euros per night, 6 persons apartment 60 euros per night.
- Duration: 12 days course + 2 days island visit.
- Location: My workshop in Malaysia (30 minutes from Club Med- beach resort Kuantan- 30 minutes flight from Kuala Lumpur, easy access) - in-take open from January 2009
Oil painting - live model and landscape workshop is available on request - minimum 6 persons.
